Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about visiting Prayas Van, joining Sunday Shramdaan, and our citizen conservation model.
What is Sunday Shramdaan and who can participate?
Sunday Shramdaan is 100% voluntary physical labor open to every citizen, student, doctor, advocate, and family. We gather every Sunday at 6:30 AM at the Wadgaon Gate. No registration or previous gardening experience is required—simply bring a water bottle, sun cap, and comfortable clothes.
Is there an entry fee or ticket required to visit Prayas Van?
No. Prayas Van is an open citizen bio-reserve and oxygen sanctuary. There is zero entry fee for walking, meditation, birdwatching, or fitness jogging. We believe access to clean air and nature is a fundamental human right.
What are the visiting hours for the walking and fitness trails?
The walking trails are open daily during the morning hours (5:30 AM to 10:00 AM) and evening hours (4:30 PM to 7:30 PM). These hours ensure safety and undisturbed resting time for the 120+ bird and wildlife species roosting in the forest.
Can I dedicate or plant a sapling for a birthday or in memory of a loved one?
Yes. Through our Native Sapling Adoption initiative, citizens can sponsor an indigenous tree (Peepal, Banyan, Neem, or Mahua). Our volunteers plant it with a personalized, numbered tree tag and care for it with drip irrigation for 3 continuous years to ensure survival.
Does Prayas have any political affiliation or accept commercial sponsorship?
None. Prayas is an independent public charitable trust owned collectively by the people of Yavatmal. We do not accept political donations or allow commercial hoarding on site. All expenditures and donations are published annually in our audited public accounts.
